Mor Shapiro is the wife of famous American political commentator, columnist, author, radio talk show host, and lawyer. Ben Shapiro is also known as one of the wittiest speakers of our time.

The couple dated for sometime after meeting and got engaged in 2007 which led to their marriage in 2008.

Mor also shares the same views about politics as her husband. She has done B.S. and M.D. from UCLA. As for religion views, she practices Orthodox Judaism. Her maiden name is Mor Toledano.

Mor Shapiro was born in 1988 in Herzliya, Israel. She belongs to Jewish-Moroccan ethnicity. She got her education from David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, UCLA. Before that, while being in Israel, she studied at Hod Hasharon, Israel.

From her marriage with Ben Shapiro, she has two children. Her daughter’s name is Leeya Eliana, she was born in 2014 and two years later in 2016 her son was born.

She has the passion related to bioethics and she has launched DGSOM UCLA Ethics Symposium. Since its launch, it has become an annual event.

Mor also has several publications covering behavioral health, women’s health, and resident education. Regardless of her achievements she wasn’t known publically until she got married to the public figure Ben Shapiro.

The couple stayed engaged for almost a year before getting married. And in the year 2008, they finally tied the knot in the traditional Jewish marriage style in Acre, Israel.

The couple had family planning in their mind and they went accordingly. They didn’t have any child before 2014. In that year their first baby was born and they named her Leeya Eliana Shapiro.

And sadly there was a problem in the heart of baby Leeya. Later on, in 2015, open heart surgery was done at Children’s Hospital in L.A. And the baby was strong enough and she survived. The Shapiro family got the breath of relief after that.

And then they didn’t put many gaps in bringing their second child in this world. Their second child arrived in 2016 and this time it was a boy. We don’t know what’s the name of their boy. Thankfully, the baby boy was born perfectly healthy.

The Jimmy Kimmel Controversy Including Mor and Ben

At the time Ben and Mor’s first child was having health problems, Ben got emotional, he wrote an open letter and posted it online. In the letter, he praised his wife for being in labor for 26 hours and how she bared it all in a heroic manner.

During a tough time, Ben and Mor prayed for their daughter’s well being and believing in God.

Coincidentally the surgeon who operated Leeya was the same person who operated Jimmy Kimmel’s son at L.A.’s Children’s Hospital.

The problem with the argument that we have to cover pre-existing conditions, which is basically what Jimmy Kimmel is saying here, is number one, when it comes to children, it is the job of the parents to have health insurance when the kid is born, because the parents’ health insurance covers the kid, right? The fact is that my kid was not buying her own health insurance when she was a year and a half old, we had health insurance; it covered her.
